Buanji (hello) from Lusaka, Zambia! After 2 long days of travel we have offically completed our first full day and settled into our hostel where we shall live for the next 6 days. The weather is beautiful with cool mornings in the high 50's and the afternoons warming up to the mid 70's with bright sun.
Today our teams completed the first day of teaching and successfully reached approximately 550 souls in total by visiting 6 schools through the city. Pastor Ibrahim kindly coordinated this prior to our arrival and generously provided vans for our transportation. The prosperity Gospel is rampant here and so the goal is to teach about who the real Jesus is. We divived into 2 groups and taught how Jesus is true God, Man, Savior and for everyone by utilizing The Word, visual representations, songs, stickers and bracelets. The children greeted us with such joy, wonder and were incredibly respectful. The hunger these children displayed for Jesus was a beautiful reminder that truly all we need in this life is Him. When we handed out our gifts I held back tears because in each set of eyes beaming back at me I could see Jesus. The Spirit of The Lord is truly alive here and I pray we may all regain this hunger and zeal for the Lord in our daily life.
Please pray that the hearts of the souls we reached today would be open to receive the Holy Spirit and in turn that The Holy Spirit grant us wisdom to speak. Our spirits are high as we bond and learn more about this beautiful country and spread God's word!
